The main causes of unsuccesful fertility practice are the stress of mother applicant and unsufficient and thin vascularity of endometrium, the layer which holds and evolves genoblast after the transfer.
Acupuncture helps endometrium to grow enough.
Acupuncture’s effect of regulation increases mother applicants’ endurance to stress. Thus mother applicants who have acupuncture treatment before and after fertility practice, have more chance of success than mother applicants who don’t have the acupuncture treatment.
A research made in USA by Dr. WE Paulus for a honorable medicine magazine, Fertility& Sterility, at 2002, proved that acupuncture treatment increases pregnancy rates.
Seven researches about infertility treatment with acupuncture published in Fertility & Sterility magazine, May 2006 edition. Two of the researches are especially special. In these researches shows that acupuncture treatment before embryo transfer increases the pregnancy rates.
First researches is done in Denmark by Dr. Westergaard and his team, with 273 patients and it proves that acupuncture treatment increases pregnancy rates. The ratio of pregnancy with acupuncture treatment is 39%, however the ratio of pregnancy in control group without acupuncture treatment is 24%. The difference is found statistically significant.
Second research is done by Dr. Dieterle Stefan (University of Witten-Dotmund) from Germany and Dr. Ying Gao ( Huazhon University of Science & Technology, Wuhan) from China. The research made with 225 patient. Clinical pregnancy rate is 33.9% for patients who has acupuncture treatment. In control group, the rate is 15.6% for pregnancy. The difference is found statistically significant.
Secretion of a chemical called beta-endorfin increases in the body with stimulus to certain point. This secretion increases the secretion of GnRH (gonadotropin releasing hormone) and also steroit and gonadotropin hormones. Moreover after the acupuncture treatment blood flow to uterus increases, endometrium becomes suitable and these conditions ease pregnancy. All these changes increases the implantation of transfered embryo.
